About Phil Mikan
Phil Mikan is a life long resident of the Central Connecticut area born in Hartford and a resident at some time or another of many of the towns in the area, he is a willing Connecticut Yankee. Phil has been in the Advertising and Communication business all of his life. The production manager of WHNB/WVIT TV/30 for 15 years he was responsible for producing everything from telethons for non-profit organizations to producing hockey games originating from Quebec Canada . He oversaw all aspects of the stations production and on air talent requirements.
He became a principal in a regional Advertising Agency; Tyrol & Mikan, managed both local and regional accounts and helped bring the agency into the Multi million dollar category.He established his own production /advertising agency and went on to bill and establish one of the regions top companies in the proprietary school advertising category, with clients all over the country. The advent of home video and corporate training Mr. Mikan went on to establish a production company specializing in video training
Phil became involved in 2000 in the Real Estate Market in Central Connecticut and as a result began a radio series designed to bring the housing market to local listeners.“ The Agents Corner” brought not only people selling and buying houses but also all the specialties which help the process move along. Lawyers, home inspectors, bankers you get the idea. As a result of producing this program Mr. Mikan produced and hosted an afternoon multi topic radio show THE CORNER which brought to the listener the message that the world as we know it is not about to end. The program sought to let listeners know that there were a lot of positive influences in their world. The Corner has proven to be very successful and now has moved to WMRD 1150/WLIS 1420 as The Phil Mikan show . With hundreds of shows aired ,the baseline for this type of programming has found a ready and willing audience.
The Weekend Corner is now a topical program for the economy and the financial markets it too has found an audience and a host of reliable and respected guests who bring hard and true facts to the topics covered.
